Filters and their application

Post by manicmodeller »

sorry if this seem to be a stupid question but how does everyone apply a filter, is it by airbrush or with a hairystick ? it's something which has been bugging me for some time but I can't work it out.

Hi mate. I love filters, best applied with soft brush because you can control. It is an enamel product so if you actually do use and airbrush, definitely needs a proper clean.

Brush is the way, and apply it onto a matte/ satin surface :)

You can also use artist oils to do your filters. In fact that was how it was always done until they started selling the purpose built ones with the silly names.
Also best applied over a matte surface with a soft brush.
