Revell 1-72 Avro Lancaster

Started this build in Sept and completed in Jan. Again, old tool, but not bad quality, good fit, hardly any flashing. Decals were a bit tricky, although that might have been down to me. Undercarriage again, flimsy, broke a number of times. Compared to by last build, it was very difficult to build, especially the small parts, my fingers, eyes struggled at times, and the carpet monster got a few of the small parts. No scratch building this time, apart from a map on the navigators table and fitted a led with tilt switch inside to illuminate cockpit. I high lighted the panel lines using HB pencil, and oil streaks using the airbrush so that it splattered the wash around the engine area. My next build I will have ago at chipping.

Question, looking at the various Lancaster walkarounds on the internet, I think the mid gunners turret looks out of scale on this model, any thoughts ?

Great work on your Lancaster

It's hard to tell from the pictures,about the turret. IMO it lips like the turret is too big and the fairing around the turret looks too small.

Great bit of modelling, those ground level shots look very realistic. Turret def look too high to me and the safety coaming looks wrong. None of which detracts from the fact that it's a damn fine build.

Thanks all. I have looked at other members Lancs, Revell v Airfix, it appears to be the norm for Revell kits, Airfix look correct.
