Revell 1/32 Ju-88A-1

Post by Gaz262 »

The Revell kit done in the markings of the plane retrieved from a fjord in Norway. Many detailed pics were supplied by the curator of the museum restoring the plane. See their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/ju88Gardermoen and here: https://ktsorens.tihlde.org/flyvrak/jonsvatnet2.html
Despite its loss so early in the war (1940) - this plane showed evidence of having a new wing fitted, squadron codes overpainted and was in the process of having its undersides repainted in, presumably RLM65 over some obscure pale grey shade - (I used FS16440, Lt. Gull Grey, It could have been RLM77 but that looked too dark on the plastic).

Some bits fitted better than others and some fitted badly mainly because of me! - I really enjoyed this one.

That is a nice build and well considered in the mix of the pale grey and light blue in the underneath. Nicely crafted and the cockpit detail and glazing is top notch.
