The base painting on the interior of the cabin is done, it just needs a gloss, washes, a bit of chipping and a flat coat, then some minor pigments to finish that. An afternoon's work.
The base coat of drab and the fading has been done to the exterior as well. The detail painting still needs to be done on that yet.













That took a crap tonne of paint. I'll be on the horn ordering a new set of OD's after this.

I started the decals yesterday and I have to say Yay for Tamiya for being consistent.
I no sooner put the decal in some room temperature water and it fell apart. I didn't even get a chance to touch it and it just disintegrated.
First on part drifted off, then another broke away, before you knew it all I had was a shattered mess.



So I dug out some proper decals (cartograf) and used those instead. I still managed to poke a hole in one, but that was my fault, not the decals.
All of the little stencils on the inside of the cab are the original tamiya decals and WOW what a job they were to deal with.
Tamiya needs to seriously get that cement filled arrogant head out of their collective arse and fix this decal issue. On a kit costing as much as this one does these decals should be good to use for a decade at least. Other companies do it, why can't they?

Right... anyway.

The rest of the work was pretty much as usually. Decals on, sealed in with aqua gloss, a nice coat of dark dirt, then clean up, then a flat coat.

The fun happened when I tried to button it up.
Holy fit issues!!!
This is after sitting with clamps all over it all night long... I still needed to go back in and reclamp one section.
WOW! What a pain.





Once I get the clamps off I'll take more pics of the interior through the windows. I forgot to do it after I took the dark dirt off.
Not much to look at really, it didn't look a tonne different as it's pretty dark in the cab.

The last few days about the house have been pretty dark and story so not a lot has been done to the Dragon wagon.

It may look like a lot but it's really just a few hours of work.
I've chipped it, then gave it a wash with Ultimate dark dirt. I cleaned that off and sealed it all with Testors Dullcote.
The I did a little detail painting.
After all of that I stuck the wheels on and mocked it up to see how it plays out.
I'm not completely happy with how it's turning out so far. There are a bunch of things that I'm just not liking and I really wish now that I'd gone with the resin wheels. These rubber ones are such crap.
















I'm hoping that with the weathering I'll start liking this thing again.
A filter and then some dot filtering will be next, followed by a tiny bit of rust work.
After that it's dirt grime and mud and done.

Today was a day of washes and pigments.
I started working on the tires first. A mixture of Ultimate Earth and Light Dirt was added to all of the tires.



Then removed with a stiff brush to give it the worn and ground in look.





Then I used a cotton bud to further wear the dirt on the tires and add detail.





Then I thinned the mixture and added it to all of the lower areas of the tractor and the trailer.



After wearing with the brush...



Then I added some Light Dirt to the roof and winch area...



And took that back with the stiff brush...



The same treatment was done to the trailer...



That pretty much ended the day in pigments and washes.... the pigments being mostly the washes.
The sad thing is I put a huge dent in my light dirt and earth stocks and I had to order more.
All that I have to say is OUCH!!!
With the state of the Canadian dollar it cost me a fortune to but just a bottle of Earth and Light Dirt from the US (The Canadian distributor was out of stock... as usual )
The pound being what it is... I can't buy anything at all from the UK, so $47 later a bottle of each is on it's way from the US.
One thing to say about HobbyWorldUSA... they're freaking fast. I ordered in the early afternoon and my order shipped 4 hours later

Either way... After adding the washes I added a bit of gloss to a few spots for grease and grime, then I scraped the headlights and reflectors off and painted them. I stuck the M4 and the two tankers on board and called it done.





Here she is now... ready to go on the diorama.
I'm a bit run down on this dio at the moment, a few things that I wanted to do didn't work the way that I expected and spoiled some of the mojo for me. All that needs to be done is the vehicles need blending into the dio... all that is, is pigment work.
But I just don't have the will to do it at the moment. I'll take a few days and work on something else for a while and then come back to this.

This has really given me the incentive to get my Wagon finished and on a base. dig deep Coen and push it over the finish line for another truly top class work of art.

The two figures are from alpine. I love alpines figures and I use them as much as I can. I wish that I could get more and use them a lot more often.

I didn't think that it was that long actually. That would explain my loss of interest on the build.
I've been banging away at it almost straight the whole time.

I have to make a mention of this... I make mention of this in my reveal vid, but that will go up later.
I have to give a bit of a tip of the hat to Matthew at Hobbyworld-USA for customer service. The fella is really on the ball.
He actually read my post on here about my trials and tribulations in buy a couple of bottles of wash (which, in the end, I bought from Hobbyworld) and he decided that paying $15 for postage was a silly thing. He repackaged my order and now it's $4 to ship.
He could have just left it alone and I would never have known the difference or he could have repackage it and not told me, keeping the money too.
The fella went out of his way to help me out and I just want to say thanks for that.
Were most of the merchants depend on our word of mouth for their advertising I have no trouble passing mine on about Hobbyworld.

There's much more that I could do and probably will do over time, but I'm calling it finished for now.
In a few months I will probably come back and add a few little things to it here and that that I had originally planned, but not now.
I'm kinda tired of looking at it.
If I do add some stuff to it I'll post the pics of course, but this is what it is as a not so famous but annoying person is apt to say.
