Zvezda kits customer support - DOES IT EXIST?

Post by Homerlovesbeer »

Hi guys,

My current issue is Zvezda support.

I emailed them 17th of February with issues regarding one of their kits and have NEVER had a reply. What am I supposed to do? Below is my email in full. Please move this post to the correct forum so I know where it is for future.

Thanks guys......

Dear Sir/Madame,

I’ve recently purchased your Zvezda 1:72 SU-27SM kit (http://www.zvezda.org.ru/?lng=1&nav=1&p=2&set=7295) and have found that the canopy is terribly distorted with flow lines all through it and not clear. Could you please send a replacement? I’ve attached pictures. This is an otherwise wonderful kit! Keep up the excellent work! J

Kind Regards,
Homer

Is it too hard to approach the shop you bought it from. I had an issue with there tiger, with main deck bent at 90' affecting about 20% of the piece. I got in touch with hobbyeasy and they were going to try to do something for me.
I never followed through because I rebuilt the bit as it was a lot quicker.
Point being they did think something could be done.

Can it be polished out or is it right through the clear.

I bought off Ebay and the seller is pretty much useless unfortunately. The canopy is complete crap. No amount of buffing will ever fix it. You can tell by my pics. The flow lines are IN the plastic and the front visor is horrible (look at the sandy texture in it).

Hmmm

Dispute it and return it to the seller for a refund, if he wont accept it open a paypal dispute

I would however the kit was bought over 60 days ago (too late for a Paypal dispute) and I only just opened it with intentions of building it for the Russian group build. I opened the box quickly when it arrived but didn't notice the canopy was so bad.

Now my only hope is with Zvezda sending me a replacement.

Best bet might be to try it to a brick and drop it on zvezda's doorstep when ya flying past... probably quickest way of getting a result.... :(

Thanks for the post. I just read online that Zvezda mostly makes crap. Your post confirms that and I know now to never get one of there models. Another horrible company is ICM... I learned the hard way!

Don't dismiss ICM so quickly, there latest efforts are world class and relative value. You just need to go carefully with their hard brittle plastic.
research is a must !
