Paper Panzer SiG!...?

Post by Panzerwolf »

I love Paper Panzers, and hope that some of you like them too.
Would anyone be interested in a Paper Panzer SiG?
For those of you who don't know, Paper Panzers are German WW2 tank (Panzers) projects, that were drawn or blueprinted (Paper) or even manufactured as prototypes, but never entered mass production. Examples are the E-series, Pzkpfw VIII Maus and the Panther II.
I know that 2014 is pretty busy concerning GBs and SiGs, but I'm only asking if anyone even was interested in this first.

WoT player, so yes I'm interested in the paper panzers.

It would depend on the timing, but I'd like to join.

Perhaps, Panzerwolf if you start a list of the available paper panzer models it might pull in some more interest.

I am also WOT player, so I might join, but first I need to get some skills so the tank would actually look like tank :)
The kits there is a great help, I am now working on getting E-100 (still on tier VII so it will take time), would have been nice to have one on my shelf. Currently I am working on Hetzer, lets see what will come out of my attempt :(

As a paper panzer? Sure, it was on paper.

As a model? 1/72 it would be big. In 1/35 you wouldn't fit it on a display shelf, but you could put a sheet of glass on top and use it as a coffee table. 8-)

Wow, great to see some replies!
Thanks a LOT for the list, Forbes! I'll work on a bigger one this weekend.
Some WoT players who'd like to build an E-100, be aware that there are only kits with turrets entirely different than in the game. You can get a resin Krupp -Turm though (rare). I'd get the Krupp one, the Mausturm on the E-100 looks a bit bulky.
Yes, the SiG might suit well for late year or even 2015.

There is a load of Paper Panzers, but only a few kits exist.
Tell me some more suggestions (or correct me on some tanks) and I'll add them.

I see you corrected their typo in the VK4502; “hintern” means a living thing’s butt, “hinten” means rear, back, etc.

We had the Beutepanzer, now we have a Buttpanzer!

I'd be in in a SiG like dis! So much to do! :cheers2:

Well shame that the Jagdpanzer E100, looks completely different in WOT. If it were the same I would definitely get it as I am proud owner of this tank in the game.
in this case I will probably get the E100 and E75, which will be mine (not soon, but they WILL !!!!) :)

There's always the possibility of scratch building :D

I think if they implemented the actual E-100 StuG in WoT, it would be way too overpowered with that thick and sloped frontal armor. Impossible to penetrate by normal tank shells!

Yes Seb, that is right, e. g. a Geschützwagen Tiger prototype existed as well.
As I mentioned, prototypes are allowed as well, all Panzers that did not enter mass production.
The Maus had 2 prototypes manufactured, the V1 and the V2. Some tanks were ordered, but never entered production.

Well nice idea of scratch building, but my skills now are that good, that I build just out of box models. I am really not ready to do any scratch build yet :(
However I got my E75 (still not in "elite" stage", but already i am working on it. So for me it would be the E75.
About the parameters in WOT - lets say that if they make everything "by the book" the game will look completely different. You cant imagine how :eeek: I am when my Jagdpanzer E100 (tier X) detrack the VIII scout or if it even bounce me, only the kinetic energy would turn the tank upside down when the shell hits the VIII, may be even when it would go close enough. But it is game so I am trying to avoid a heart attack and stay 8-)

I would love to join this SIG if it happens!!

One point; I hate to be a party pooper but the Jagdpanzer E 100 is COMPLETE fiction it was designed by a modeller in the seventies and Tom Jentz and Hilary Doyle the two experts in the field have discounted it as it appears in no historical documents. Therefore it would not count as a paper panzer more a fantasy panzer. I don't know whether the guidelines would be lenient enough to allow it though....

Also any other E series tank (or tank destroyer variant) that ISN'T the E 10, 25, 50, 75 or 100 are completely MADE UP by modellers and never existed in German plans.
The E 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 were designed by the Germans

One last point, unfortunately the turret in the trumpeter E 100 is also made up :(

Sorry to sound a bit rivet counter like but I do have an in depth love and knowledge of German armoured vehicles in WW 2.

I'd be in on a Paper Panzer SiG too They're My favourite sphere of armour modelling that Sci-fi edge
is often a welcome change one thing I like about it is the freedom and artistic license they allow , It's not really an issue if something's a complete fiction or not .
just modelling fun , exactly what it was intended to be .
