1943 EggArcade

Post by rodrant »

Hi guys ,

my participation in this SiG will be this little kit I bought some months ago for Egg Build , it is a kit from Fujimi and a license of Capcom depicting their arcade game 1943 ...well it has a plane and a Yamato ...or so it seems , will build it trying to depict some arcade or gaming machine :-) , still no ideas on how it will be the diorama, must see inside the box first ...

Wore out my NES on this game... Awesome kit! And yeah, that looks like a Yamato class.

I say make it view-able top-down, like the arcade.

Lots of bullets and a power-up maybe? I don't remember, was the first boss a bomber or the battleship? Sure that's what they were going for, it's a great find, man.

And again I forgot to buy myself an egg plane.... just walked for 8 hours on a scale model convention last weekend and not bringing any egg plane home with me... bummer

Anyway, that looks like a great kit you got there António! And I agree on the tabletop view. Just like the game. But whatever cunning plan you have, I'm sure you come up with something awesome :thumb1:

Have fun, I will follow with interest!

Well , this Egg builds are fast and furious :-)

You open the box :

Image

Image

Image

Image

Start on the small guns

Image

in a minute you did some more turrets

Image

The hull

Image

All ready to paint ...

Image

MAsk on the hull

Image

As it will be an arcade sort of small diorama , I will use the stickers and will not paint the wooden deck !

Image

In the mean time as all dries , time to do the very small lightng ...

Image

Beautifull details and very nice detail panel lines :-)

Image

the detail is just superb ! Small but nice ... ;-)

Image

Image

Image

The cockpit ...do not know if to use some PE pieces on it

Image

In a blink of an eye ...it is done !

Image

This are nice , you have some clear plastic parts to place in the propelers as they were spinning !

Image

Decalling....sorry stickers time !

Image

Image

Image

and...

Image

Image

the mighty Yamato is done !

Image

Menacing with all that fire power ! :-)

Image

and all done in few hours !

The P-38 was painted with Olive drab and sky grey in the belly

Image

Image

I must start thinking on the diorama that I will make now ...an arcade machine was a good idea ...or a sort of eggarcade ... :D

Another update on the Egg Build :-)

For the base , I get this :

Image

The cotton also ...

The sticks , but will use only one of the midle ...I had an idea but not to be done , that was to use the samll ones for doing the 'bullets flying around ' , but let me tell you that for me was the hard part and I couldn't find a solution for it , so I went for something alterantive and more simple ...the magnets I thought in using them for buttons ...but again not a good idea

Image

This small broken trunk that I had , will get half of the cover ...

Image

So after I glued the half cover and placed the sticker as a control lever for the arcade machine , I painted all in black , and the top of the lever in Red

Image

Feel the arcade feeling ? Yessss!!! , please insert the coin !

Image

Now dealing with the cotton , and to try to make some explosions ...will use yellow , orange and red ...

Image

Yellow first

Image

Some orange

Image

Some Red

Image

And a first idea on how the diorama will be ...not as I thought first , but seems nice to me :-)

Image

Now for the fire buttons thought of this pins from a cork board ..will do the task !

Image

For the water , this Vallejo Pacific water left over from last year Egg Build on the Akagi ! We must not waste modelling materials , and this water effect is really carttonish style !

Image

The pool is ready !

Image

Place this transparent sprue to serve as a base for the Egg Lightning !

Image

And the boat is ready in the 'Arcade screen' now to let all dry till tomorrow to finish this build !

Hope you liked !

I really dig this, I want to take it home with me already.

Pew, pew!

The props and stickers are perfect for what you're doing, excellent choice :th:
