Molotovin koktaili... ( коктейль Молотова)..... The Winter War 39-40.

Post by wappynutter »

Time for a Final Reveal Guys...
Been a long GB with some excellent entries.... I have many favourites...:    :
This is my little entry..
1/72 scale Winter scene from the Finnish/Soviet conflict of 1939-40.
Simply entitled "Molotov Cocktail" in English or as written above in both the Finnish and Soviet dialect. It portrays the Small, quick "motti" type attacks the Finish troops used against the Soviet Aggressors.
Thanks for all the support and kind words of encouragement over the past 4 months, greatly appreciated Guys..
Until the next time..... Thanks for looking.. :thumb1:
:cheers2:

Thanks Troy, greatly appreciate the kind words my friend.. 1/72.... the scale for folks with storage issues.. hahaha.... Thats my excuse.. lol..
Too many kids, a wife, a dog and a small home makes it a necessity to think small scale.. lol.. Glad i still managed to portray some detail.
I really enjoyed building this.... I'm glad you guys like it too..

Thanks Fredrik, much appreciated Sir. I do love to try and add some low level figure height pictures to get the right perspective for the scene..
These Finnish Soldiers were fighting a near impossible War, i needed to give a soldiers eye view to show this.
I'm glad you found yourself immersed in the scene.
Thanks again my friend, all the best.. :thumb1:

Thanks for the kind comments, greatly appreciated Sir..
The snow is just common household Talcum Powder fixed using firm hold hairspray. At 1/72 scale i found talc to be just the right grain size to simulate the effect i was after.
A couple of light dusting's, with a spray of hairspray between dustcoats gave the fallen layered finish i wanted. Finishing with a good coat of hairspray to set.
This fixing isn't set solid but will take some knocks or drops to dislodge.. I learnt this the hard way... lol.. :wall:
Thanks again...
