Airfix Boeing 737-200 Ryanair "Jaguar" 1/144 Scale

Post by FuzzSquad »

Another one I completely recently.

It was an early Airfix 737-200 1/144 scale kit, which was a very basic kit.
I then added the Ryanair decals from Nazca Decals, and paint from my local motor factors.

I stay local to Prestwick Airport in Scotland and I remember this aircraft operating to and from there in the 80's. It was subsequently decommissioned and cut up at Prestwick. Various parts of it still live on, I believe the cockpit is being used as a trainer somewhere in England

nice result, love the blueish tint on the windshields :th: make it look more realistic than most airliners I've seen.

Nice work. How hard was the jaguar decal to do?

Sincerely,

Richard

Cheers guys the Jaguar decal was not to bad, like most aftermarket decals, they need to be cut out if you know what I mean, I just cut close to the image, making it a bit easier

The only thing you've got to watch with Nazca decals is the amount of laquer you use in one go, as they can run very easily

Wow I have never even heard of Nazca before. Of course I only have been back into the hobby for about a year after a 20 something year break.

Either way great looking work.

Richard give then a look. The main ones I use for airliners are Nazca Decals (Based in Germany as I said you've got to be careful with the laquer), 26Decals (Based in the UK I think, these decals are excellent probably the best I've used so far), DrawDecal (Based in America, again very good quality) you can also get a lot more on a site called Aviation Megastore (Based in Holland I think).

Thanks mate, I will definitely look into these. I do mainly WWII aircraft but I am always looking for things to help my models get better. Thank you so much for all the information.
You absolutely did a fantastic job with the plane.

Sincerely,

Cheers mate, for all the WW2 decals and stuff, have a look at DrawDecal, and Aviation Megastore, they do loads. Ray at 26decals, as recently brought out the White "anti flash" decal set, for the Avro Vulcan, which hopefully will find its way into the stash soon.
