An interesting build ... the Tamiya 1/48 Il-2M3 Shturmovik

Post by Beserker »

"The Ilyushin Il-2 (Cyrillic: Илью́шин Ил-2) was a ground-attack aircraft (Cyrillic: Штурмовик, Shturmovik) in the Second World War, produced by the Soviet Union in very large numbers. In combination with its successor, the Ilyushin Il-10, a total of 42,330[3] were built, making it the single most produced military aircraft design in all of aviation history, as well as one of the most produced piloted aircraft in history along with the American postwar civilian Cessna 172 and the Soviet Union's own Polikarpov Po-2 biplane, sometimes seen side-by-side with the big armored Ilyushin design on the front lines." Jan, do you build models yourself?

Also is there a particular reason for posting this?

My first thought

Image

..... then I made a photo box yesterday...first set of pictures were rubbish...
Second batch of pictures usable, not happy with setup yet....oh well
(Brewer's presentation is worth striving for (imo); builds of the Ilyushin II-2 are far and few between.... the AK47 of the sky..... that's why.)

Hasegawa 1/24 Kübelwagen Type 82 DAK (Deutsche Afrika Korps)
Image

Photo box needs tweaks.... 5000K light bulbs, replace light emitting material and adjust for correct WB setting on (my 'new') camera.
Mostly waste pictures here too, but a few show promise.....and they help answer the other question

..... and the 'crowning' finale; thought I'd copy this as a build for the Figure GB....but have since thought better of that.

Why did I write "....but have since thought better of that."?

Paul, did I invite you to criticize my build?
Clearly, I answered your question by showing a WIP; i.e. I answered both your questions. It would have been nice if you could have acknowledged that on your own.
Did I not answer these 2 questions Paul:

"Jan, do you build models yourself?

Also is there a particular reason for posting this?" .....yes or no?

How does that make me 'slightly' confused, Paul? and what are you confused about, Lee; can you not just say what it is?

Oh btw, does one have to build models to be a member of and participate in the ISM forum?

Number one not a criticism just a tip to straighten it when you get chance :th:

Number two I was just clarifying that your entry would not qualify for the GB :th:

You seem confused as you appear to be rambling on about nothing :ooops:
