Crap Paint but AMAZING service. Shades of black the outcome.

Post by CJSomerset »

A little while ago I asked if you really need or can even tell the difference between several shades of black.

The general consensus was yes, so I ordered the life colour set of 6 shades of black. But unfortunately NONE OF THEM WERE BLACK!

So I contacted SnM stuff who I had bought them from and told Shaun about the problem. Unfortunately I'd bought the last set they had, so I waited for them to come back into stock at which point SnM sent me another set completely free of charge

But sadly they were exactly the same as the first set! So I contacted Shaun again and whilst telling him the problem I mentioned that it was a shame that they were not open on Sundays as I would be in Farnborough and could have shown him the samples I had painted.

To my amazement he said that he would gladly open up his shop just for me, so that I could return them

So today I popped into SnM Stuff and had a good browse around, it's a great little place, I just wish I lived closer!

We still don't know what went wrong with my paint, but I came away with some Vallejo model air in Nato Black and standard black and several shades of dark greyish colours so at least now I can start painting my latest project. I would have bought a lot more, but my Mrs came with me!

Thank you again Shaun, if only all shops were like this :thumb1: :thumb1:

Now that is customer service & some! And, thank you, you have saved me a few quid as I won't be buying the "alleged" shades of black set.

Glad it worked out so well in the end. Much easier to do your own modulation, especially with Vallejo paints. Their 'dropper' tops mean you can accurately measure your mixes when making different shades. Much cheaper and more fun than splashing out on a set of 'specialised' colours.
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

I've bought a lot of my modelling supplies through SnM stuff of late and they're quick to deliver and all well packed :th: I've not visited as yet but I'm planning to.

Fantastic service. I have never had that happen to me.
Shame you didn't like the shades of black set, but never mind.
