Show off your finished models

Post by flundstrom2 »

Especially you guys who build a lot of models in a year, the storage and display must be of an issue.

So, how do you deal with them after they are completed? Do you have a laaarge shelf in your mancave, display the best 4-5 in a nice exhibition glass furniture in your living room, or do you just tuck them away at the attic?

Go on, show us your all of your completed models in one picture (if possible), and tell us about your storage and display solutions or issues!
Regards, Fredrik

I have 3 display cabinets
They only have 4 shelfs each and aren't big enough for a 1/32 fighter plane
But i still can put 4 or 5 Tiger 1 tanks in 1/35 on a shelf
But i plan to make some additional shelfs for them
Just like small tables so i don't have to worry about how i would support them
Some other builds are just on shelfs as they are too big for the display cabinets
But most completed builds are in big plastic tubs as only my own favorites get a spot in the display cabinets

And about a show of all my completed stuff
There are too many
I have over 100 armor builds that are completed so that would be too much
And then there are a couple of planes and i even already binned a couple of builds that either where damaged beyond repair or where plain bad in my opinion
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

I have tanks on top of dvds on shelves, planes in an old bookcase, in front of the tv, on the speakers, coffee table and pc desk. I've started redoing things i built last year so the older ones are going in the bin as they are replaced.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.
My motto? I'm not lazy, just energy efficient.

I have a room in the basement where the finished pieces are lined up. figures go in a glass cabinet. if this would not be possible i would display the latest and best models and the others i would store in the loft in boxes with styrofoam plates in between to secure them.

I keep only my last twenty or so models - and handful of my favorite ones - the rest I take out to my friends property and use them for target practice- it's very fun.
