Nocturna "Malefic times" Lilith

Hi guys
So this would be my very first figure review
As a figure painter i am nothing more then a complete noobie
I painted a truckload of 1/35 military figures but the figure painting genre of our hobby is completely different from what most of us do when we make a afv or a plane and want figure to put next to it

But first a little intro about the subject

So who is Lilith
In this case this figure is based on the character Lilith from the graphic novels called Malefic times by the Royo brothers
I don't know anything about those books but the mythological creature Lilith turn up in more books ,writings and even in the tv series Supernatural
From what i have found Lilith is some what of a naughty girl
Or according to some old Hebrew writings more or less a source of pure evil
In the Malefic times books she is the evil character aswell but in a pretty gift wrapping
On tv she also was the bad girl who wanted to destroy everything
But as it is with most fantasy stories the bad guy or girl often looks much cooler then the hero

So with that covered ,it is time to look at what we get

The figure comes in this nice metal box wich is sealed with a sticker that shows the artwork from the books


When we carefully cut the sticker we can take a look inside
The first thing i fpund was a card showing the same artwork and on the back it says it is a HD casting and some more advertisement and info about this figure
The parts are packaged in 2 bags
The small parts are in a small bag and that is inserted in the bigger bag with the large parts
The bag of parts is nicely proteced by 2 sheets of sponge wich are pretty thick and with those sponges and the metal box the parts are protected from most accidents

The small parts like the arms ,candles and 2 tiny flames that you can use on the candles where in the smaller bag
The base ,body and wings where in the bigger bag


Let's start with the body
The detail is very nice and crisp
I couldn't find a single airbubble on it
The only thing i don't really like is the casting block
But i strugle with that every time i use resin parts or figures


A lillte better view of the upper half of the body
I am very impressed with the details in the dress and the hair
But the face looks very nice aswell


Her back is just as nicely detailed as the rest but it has 2 holes for the wings


The detail on the wings is great aswell
But they do have some flash and a few casting points that you need to remove
The top of the wings don't even show a seam line from the mold so that is good


On the inside of the wings you can see the square blocks that fit in the holes on the figures back
Other then that is shows the same kind of detail as the other side



The arms with some jewelery on them
But i couldn't find a bad seam on them
And there is even no flash on them not even between the fingers


The base with the candles and the flames
The base itself is pretty basic but looks okay
The candles look very nice aswell but the 2 little flames have a nasty seamline all around them
So i think i won't use them but then again maybe i will make a new base alltogether when i start with this figure

And just for the fun of i fitted the wings


The fit of the wings is very good and even when theybare friction fitted they stay in their place

So that is all i have to show for now
At the moment i really want to start with figures but i still have a couple of builds on the go
Once those are finished and off the bench i will start with a figure and to be honest i think it will be a different one then this
Because like i said i am new to figures
I already have a couple of very good brushes and other stuff i will need but i really think it is better to practice on a some what cheaper and easier figure before i try to tackle this one

I think i will paint one of my busts first
Just to have some practice but the colors would be totally different
The only mistake i made so far is to buy only high quality figures
And those often cost a bit too much to mess up
On the other hand resin is easy to clean and the degreaser i use to clean kits with a bad paintjob works on most paints
Unless i used mr surfacer as a primer
Then the paint becomes rock solid
So maybe i just need to start and don't worry about
I know the owner of the shop where this figure came from so i think i will contact him to ask wich book i need to learn all the basics and techniques and then just give it a go
