1:32 Spitfire Conversion

Great work so far!!! That NMF looks amazing, can wait to see the finish. I built a kit last year (my 1/32 F80C from Czhech models) terrible fit, short run kit. Putting on the air intake pieces there was a 3mm gap on each side of them, you can check out my build on it here

I had attempted to build the revel 1/48 B29, but it was even worse then the kit you are working on. It had at least half inch steps on the wing roots I got it filled and sanded, but then my dog came in and knocked into the table it was on, it fell off, and the wings came off. I binned it out of frustration.

Let things dry for 2/3 days then varnish and it's home-made decal time

Oh dear! I had a dirty great black smear across the wing, so I applied more NMF but the masking tape pulled off the gloss blue

This has been one heck of a project; any updates? We have less than 13 days left for this SiG!

Yes Sir, it certainly has been a baptism of fire I had to put it to one side for the sake of my own sanity I have made a little progress and will press on this weekend. I will post the next update on Sunday

I'm in the final furlong now I am quite pleased with my first attempt at home-made decals. The paper I bought is very thick (cheap) though!
There isn't much left to do now, final reveal planned for Saturday

Final Update #
Added the prop, canopy & undercarriage, so finally its finished This kit has fought me all the way & its not what I had hoped for, the paint should have been striped back to plastic but I just didn't have the will power. Many lessons learned along the way as its my first kit in may a decade.

I thought I would fall at the last hurdle as my broadband failed over the weekend and (knowing how long it takes BT) I thought I would not have a connection to upload my reveal photo's, but it turns out that I hadn't paid the bill
