Right!!?? Of course the shipping was $8
I was watching Thunderdome videos last night on U Tube looking at the kids who could go into a diorama
Some people hated that movie.....I thought it was cool

Oh shipping... a cruel master.

Honestly I think Thunderdome gets a bad rap. Barter Town was awesome, and yeah the kids could get annoying, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it more times than Mad Max (the original) and not as many as Mad Max 2. That makes it A-ok in my book.

Glad I could help clear the Bugatti fog; a monster project like that can easily consume you. (it still looks amazing... so happy it's so close!)

Ok fellas I was digging in the intrawebs and I was able to dig up pictures of a group build I did 10 years ago! The theme? "After WW3" inspired by madmax.

I hope this pics can be of inspiration for anyone (including me) that are planning madmax themed builds
Sorry for the poor camera quality(10 years ago)

Both of my kits are on route for this build...mid to late July is the due date unfortunately :
Do not think I will do the "floaty thing" sig as that gets into house build crunch time

What's the deal on this purposed build? We going to do it or not? Hey, with the ship SIG coming up and the amazing luck I have where there is an entire pool/courtyard outside my door full of the other kind of models (which are much funnier to work on - fyi) - maybe this build could be a bit longer than a summer build?

Funny you should say that...

Sorry I haven't updated much these last few days. My own schedule got busy, too busy, and I wanted to make sure our ducks were in a row before saying anything.

The Summer Sci-Fi SiG is up and running!

For SiG details and guidelines, click here: http://www.intscalemodeller.com/viewtop ... 99&t=18558

Big thanks to Lee and Paul for all the help, and for letting us hijack the SiG subforum for a couple months :th:

Obviously builds don't begin until July 1, so don't jump the gun just yet! In the mean time, let's keep any posts either here in this topic or in the general chat topic under the SiG itself.

Who's excited? I'm excited! Just four more days to go!

Well, it might be a bit late now to extend it, but it does run all the way to October 31 (four months). It'll overlap with the end of PTO and the start of I <3 Tamiya/Floaty Things, but not run concurrently with any of them.

No worries, man. Drop in and comment all you like as we go. Four months is a decent stretch, who knows, maybe you can throw something together at the 11th hour :cheers2:

As the Water War is drawing to its inevitable end, the last remaining members of the group have field engineered weapon systems from salvaged parts of helicopters and aircraft. Holed up in a rocky area, they await the final assault.

Hopefully it won't disappoint. This involves parts from aircraft kits, accessory kits, Evergreen styrene kits and other stuff. I've had the kits for several years and never built them, so figured this would be a good usage of them.

Sounds like fun. Now that my holy of holies is back together and a new compressor is in place, I'd love to do one of those StarWars kits my wife got for me. Just finishing up the Revell Osprey for now.

Hey gang, awesome start so far, 10 builds and only 4 days in!

Just in case some of you are new to posting build threads, I thought we could have a word. Please don't be nervous, there's really no wrong way to do it. Paul recently made a handy video that can walk you through it:

If you're worried about getting info or pics for a sci-fi subject that may be hard to find, don't be. Just do what you can and if you realize along the way you found information to add, just add it to your next post or edit your OP.

Maybe you've only got a camera phone or aren't handy with cameras, but don't let that stop you. Do the best you can, we all really want to see your work regardless.

No one will mock you or pick on your blurry camera. Just try your best.

Also, I'm around quite a bit and will always answer your questions as soon as I can. Short of ringing you up and walking you through something (I can't make international calls all day--sorry chaps), I'll do whatever I can to help get you going! Photobucket is pretty easy to use once you've done it once and Paul covers it in the vid.

Also, there's no "start time" to worry about missing. Start whenever you like. The only date that matters is the end date.

Good luck, looking for your posts soon!

:cheers2:

I'm considering it; it depends upon what ISM GBs and SiGs are set up for 2017. We'll know more about that by mid-December I should think (voting takes place in the latter half of November).

Stay tuned!
