So this is annoying me

Post by erased »

I started to build the tamiya 20056 williams f1 car and i decided to assemble things randomly like i always do; in this case the front wing. I went to look for the parts for the front wing and the whole god damn tray for the G parts is missing. I checked probably 5 times in the box around me and i even counted the bags ive opened. The god damn G parts aint there! WTF tamiya was going thru my head. This has never ever happened to me before. Have this happened to anyone else here?? What did u guys do? Did u contact tamiya and the place u bought it from or just one of the two?? Im going nuts.... :wall: :bash: :pistols:

In the UK you should contact the company/store that sold it to you in the first instance, only then the manufacturer/distributor.

I always check the box contents just in case this happens, cause most of mine doesn't get built straight away and it is hard to go back to the seller after many moons have passed.

Edit to add: Try the store first. If they won't help, then try Tamiya directly.

Not sure where you are, so look here:

http://www.tamiya.com/english/agent/agent.htm

Note that I believe they're distributors, but they can send you to the right person for your region.

If you're in NA, then try here:

easier and interesting to the rest of us if you can includ your location.
BUT as Lysus says' try the store first. If no luck then Tamiya if they say no you still might be able to buy the missing sprue from them.

This happened to me this very week! I started building the MiniArt Ruined Factory diorama and discovered that four sprues were missing.
I'd had this kit in my stash for too long to go back to the seller so I emailed MiniArt and to my pleasant surprise the next day they replied apologising for the packing error and said they will post me the missing parts. So, well done MiniArt (providing the parts arrive).

Lesson learnt though, from now on I will open every kit when it arrives and do a part count even if it is shrink wrapped like the MiniArt kit was.

I had stepped on my canopy Sprue for my Tamiya 1/48 Corsair. I bought it from a store that went out of business. So I contacted Tamiya and just told them I stepped on the clear Sprue and it was a lost cause. They didn't give any trouble just asked for the information off of the box and sent me a new clear canopy Sprue.
So if you have zero luck with the hobby store Tamiya could be helpful.

Sincerely,

Richard

It's been my experience that hobby shops, the ones that aren't part of a chain, are more interested in keeping your business rather than your $30. I bet they'll make it right.

Yeah. He is pretty much independent. Used to be cheaper than anyone else here in sweden. Selling models for 200-250 SEK that where priced at 350 SEK at other stores and the spray paints for 60, while others sold them for 100. BUT im gonna go down to my basement and go thru all of my un-built models i have down there in the boxes. It may have been mixed up.

Ha Ha, Murphy's law
I have done that too. Lotus F1 car and my son put the front suspension parts into the wrong Lotus box
Strangely enough, found the sprue on E Bay and now have duplicate front suspension

turned my desk upside down last night for about 30min going through everything trying to find a set of kv 1 tracks. Could not find them at all....totally peed off by this stage . Then I looked up and there they were where they had been hanging for the last few months on the side of my paint rack. :wall:  :wall:  :wall:
