replacing tyre treads

Post by Thomas2542 »

I removed the treads from the wheels of my tornado after having to filling and sanding the gaps between the two halves. the two outer treads were still there so I decided to try and add the treads back.

I wrapped masking tape around the wheel and lightly cut the treads using a razor saw.

I use a similar method but using a panel line scriber. If you would like to add new tread diamond on WWII aircraft tires a modeling chisel is my tool of choice. Sweet result on the tornado tires. :th:

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.
