Hi everyone ! I started airbrushing a year ago with an old paasche from my brother. I just bought an eclipse HP-CS recently but havent had the chance to use yet because my compressor broke. But now I would like to invest in compressor made for modeling... I know it needs to be with piston, regulator and moisture trap...But for the rest they all look the same for me... Where I live I mostly have access to Iwata and Paasche...otherwise shipping cost are too high. My budget is around 300$ CAN.
Can someone make any suggestion or recommandation for me ?

Hi there Carion77,

Might I suggest looking into the Sparmax TC-610H. Its a great "little" starter airbrush compressor that would last. Over here in Europe the retail around the EUR 200 range so that would convert to the 300 CAD.

It's funny that this thread came up; i'm actually looking for a new compressor myself. I would be interested in any recommendations that anyone has, too.

As a starter I would recommend the one I already did, but other manufacturers doe very similar models. What ever one you get make sure it has an air tank, this will serve two "cure" two common problems: Fluctuating / pulsation pressure and moisture in the airline. The air tank also has a the benefit that is serves air an reservoir so the motor isn't running all the time. If you have the budget I would also suggest getting a double piston compressor as this will allow for larger airbrush needles to be used.
