Never tried the Tamiya ones, but I have invested in the Xuron. They are exactly as advertised, when making a cut it is almost impossible to see where you have cut. It is very much a flush cut, minimal sanding required and they are super sharp. I haven't done many kits with them, but I am pretty sure I would have no hesitation in buying again.

Xurons are a great bit of kit, Just be careful though they are lightsaber sharp

I've got Tamiya one's they're expensive but top quality, they work perfectly. I've not tried any others but like most things in life you get what you pat for and in my experience cheaper will either work but for varying lengths time having to replace many times for the same length service or they just don't work.

Xuron isn't cheap kit

They have a whole range of specialty cutters designed to do one job only and that is to cut what they were designed for...eg..photo etch, plastic, wire,craft, etc and they tell you do not use for any other material.

I've ended up ordering the Tamiya ones as emodels had them in stock and was ordering some other things from them. I have the Xuron sprue cutters and they are excellent as well.

Just following up about the Tamiya Photo Etch scissors. The are in a word fantastic. They cut through the photo etch like a hot knife through butter and are so precise. I'm planning to do a review video at some point in the channel.

Be good if you were to compare both at same time....I think xuron are just a tad in front. It is there business to make purpose built cutters. I know they can shave a edge with no jumping off the edge and that is using the very tip of the blades

I might at some point get the Xuron's as well to compare. I'm a tool person, usually when I go into a hobby shop it's the tool section that get's looked at first.

That's the only thing that you need, high precision no cleanup (I don't have to at least), cheap and it will last a long time since you only are cutting thin soft metal.

I've got a pair of the Italeri PE snips and the work fine for me on Eduard PE (the main brand I use) however I have also used Aber PE on mainly my AFV builds and have found that a curved hobby knife on a piece of tempered glass works better.
