Hasegawa F-4 Phantom "Phantom Boy"

Post by Colinstelma »

I am building a Hasegawa F-4 egg for this GB, but I've had a terrible time loading my pics to the forum... I'll keep trying. I've posted an initial shot of the box and unbuilt kit to the ISM Facebook page as a temporary stopgap. More to come.

Glued the fuselage halves tonight after work, extra thin did the trick. Also glued the little "Phantom Boy" together minus one arm and his legs. Saving that for my next session. Didn't think I'd have to do any re scribing but "surprise!", it's a 15 year old kit that's been sitting in a warm shop for probably as many years. Had to sand down stepped seams and glue ridges around the entire fuselage. Oh well...

The little guy is the Phantom driver mascot, it's the phantom. Not sure where it came from but it has been the F-4 thing forever, it is frequently seen on phantom stickers and emblems. It also has a little gun to put over his shoulder.
