Panther Ausf A at the Kovel Battle

So here are a few pics of my recent completed kit. It's my take on a photo that I saw of a Panther Ausf A of the Viking Division during the battles around Kovel.

The kit with Atak zim and an RB barrel


Nothing to say about the build really....quite straightforward so on to the base coats of paint



The base laid out......




now my creative imagination starts to run wild...




my first attempt using Ultimate washes....



The finished scene....





sorry for the lack of pics and dialogue but you get the gist.......what led me to building this particular vehicle was purely the trench crossing beam !!!this was a field modification and well ...that's what inspired me to build this one !! I made some really clumsy mistakes during the building and weathering but I quite like the end result !!

Very, very nice dio, love the way it goes up hill which gives it a bit more realism than if it was just flat

WOW! Amazing. I love the Dunkelgelb base coat. What colour did you use?
and I love the zimmerit as well. I have just ordered ATAK for my Wirbelwind. Was working with it OK? What glue did you use?

Thanks for the nice comments I used Gunze Mr Color Dark yellow as the base coat and then Mig Ammo Dunkelgelb to add depth and shade to it..
I always use Atak and it's great, I actually use 2 part 5 minute epoxy to attach it, I find that it works well for me but you will need to rough up the surface that you're attaching it to......

Awesome build Mark. I like all the German tanks, so it's hard to say my favorite, but the panther is high on my list, and you made it higher, with this build. I like the upward slope of the dio, I've got to try that. Again awesome build.
