Hello to all ISM’ers from Chicago!

My name is Oscar and I’ve only been modeling for just under 2 Years. I was really into Car/Motorcycle Tuning/Modifying, I was a tattoo artist for a while but alas I was dealt kind of a bad hand and now I suffer from severe chronic pain so I could no longer do my other hobbies or work so I was at home bored being unable to do much.

About 2 years ago my wife bought me a 1:48 Revell Tomcat while she was at Hobby Lobby and a bottle of super glue and I put that kit together without painting or being careful about seams or anything else but I got hooked and modeling became my way of staying sane at home.

I work on models almost on a daily basis (on good days) but they are still far from perfect , because of my chronic pain I can’t exactly sand out seam lines or airbrush for long periods of time but I hope to one day be good enough to have something look as good as some of the more experienced modelers here.

Can’t shell for aftermarket parts right now so all my stuff is straight OOB but I do rarely scratch build details like seat belts with milliput and styrene, gotta be thrifty!

I’ve been stalking the forums and Paul’s videos for a while looking at tips and they have helped me quite a bit. I love looking at in progress and member gallery posts so I decided to become an official member of the community.

So without boring you guys any further here are my latest projects which I will be adding to the member’s gallery. Pardon my pics, They are not the best. I don’t have the greatest lighting or a camera so I take pics with my phone.

Thanks! Yeah only 2 years. I used to airbrush murals with createx so I was no stranger to airbrushing but let me tell you, modelling is a whole other animal! I basically had to learn to airbrush again.
