Dan Fink's Speed wagon in 1/25 scale..

Post by wappynutter »

Okay so finally and just within the time i give you the totally OOB build...
Dan Fink's Speedwagon by Monogram in 1:25 scale.

By far the worse build here i'm sure, but it is my first ever venture into the auto modelling section.
I loved it... hated it... loved it... hated it again!!
The body fit was a little awkward with the floor never quite touching where it needed to sit to glue down. Rear inner arches of the tub were rubbing on the flared outer arches.. The chrome was easily rubbed and worn off too!..
The final problem came with the roof painting and the fact i used rubber bands to hold the body together while gluing which marked all the roof edges meaning a complete rework of the roof which then reacted badly not once but twice during the prep and respray. :wall: :bash: :boom:
I ended up using black matt acrylic finished with aqua gloss as opposed to the original auto spray black gloss finish.... Nightmare i tell ya!.... and so close to the finish too!...
But.... Finished it now is, a little rough and glue bombed in places.... could also be a little smoother and shinier.... but she'll do for a first attempt..
I hope... lol....  :

Lots of pictures incoming....

Wow...she came out a real winner on this one. The paint is great, the profile is awesome, but for me the window decals and the Oregon plates make this kit real for me lol.

Oh Oregon...

Top job, man!
