Clear parts help

Hi, I have searched, but as ever, might not be using the right keywords. I'm putting together a horrible kit - Revell 1/48 Memphis Belle and am looking at a most awful ball turret that has a join line that would make Doctor Frankenstein laugh. I know it is going to get a lick of paint but is there a good method for joining clear parts without it looking too bad? I've used pva glue for the join but wondering if there is a more elegant method. Thanks.

Tamiya extra thin works really well for clear parts when you handle it really carefully. I heard that the aircraft modellers use it all the time. I tried it myself and it was not shabby at all. Just make sure that it won´t get anywhere where the part has to remain clear.
Besides that i´d use pva glue as you already mentioned (there is a fast bondening one which is pretty handy for that purpose).
Most other glues tend to eat into the clear parts or leave residue that can fogg the clear parts.

I have used Future Floor wax or Alclad Gloss to stick clear parts together... but don't stress them ... if you are going to rotate the assembly to show off... then try glue that doesn't mare the clear styrene. *DO a test first*.... never experiment on your model !

Thanks for the advice and I will experiment with all of the methods and didn't even consider gloss to join. I was a little worried about using cement as I have had that crazy frosting before so have avoided it ever since and not tried it since I discovered the extra thin. Thanks again.
