Punch & Die Sets

Post by privatepete »

Hi, I was wondering if there is another manufacturer besides RP Toolz that make a punch & die set and hexagonal punch & die set for white card.

Me again.

These have been on my wanted list for quiet a while and I have read a lot about the different ones. I was going to settle for the RP toolz even though the punches have a aluminum head. They have small but important features. Numbered punches, small punch has a alignment pin so you don't force it the wrong way and break it, all replaceable, hammer, trays available, punches have a large face to hit ( so less miss hits as you might get with a rollmodel version which stick fast sometimes ) and seems like a quality item.
Also some have just a straight pin punch which you could burr eventually and if you don't use it same way around each time the base plate will eventually be damaged. depending on how much use it subjected to.
I just can't afford them yet.
I know this is my opinion and more than you asked for, but please disregard at your leisure.

Thanks Pete for thinking of me and being so kind to post for my benefit.
There is one disadvantage for me in that set. I wouldn't be able to see the plastic card to re position for next hole. A clear top is what I'm looking for.
UMM do such a set, but There is little difference in price between them and RPZ tools who supply a small hammer ,16 punches as well plus a couple of small other differences.
I'll wait until Christmas
Thanks again for your kindness.
Ian
