Hey everyone, been lurking on these forums for a while, decided to sign up today. Recently got back into modelling after a decade and a half long break after getting too frustrated with a 1/32 scale F-104.

Currently got a 1/144 Real Grade Freedom Gundam being built, 1/35 Tamiya Stug 4 awaiting painting, a 1/35 Tamiya Subaru Impreza WRC '99 that I've just started and a 1/35 Tamiya Castol Tom's Supra which I'm now thinking about saving for your Tamiya group build.

First time using an airbrush aswell so still getting used to using that, and getting the PSI right and the amount of thinners right so abusing a poor 1/72 scale airfix sherman to test painting on.

Well I got as far as priming it then started the painting but got so fed up trying to get it to look like bare aluminium it ended up going in a box then got lost when moving years ago.

A bare metal finish on scale models is one of the most challenging ones to pull off realistically a specially on large scale aircraft. Alclad II, Mr. Hobby Buffable and Model Master where my old world Enamel favorites for many years. I'll be giving the AK Extreme / true metals along with the new Vallejo Metallic Paint thru the paces on my F-4 SIG in October. I also have the metal polishing powders on order from Uschi Van Der Rosten for that build.

Sounds a bit more fancy than my usual method of Citadel metallic paints + a black ink wash haha. I'll be attempting a proper paint job on the Supra I think, just need some proper clear coat and very fine sandpaper.
