Hi from Portsmouth, UK

Post by CliveT »

Hi all,

Clive here, another old duffer getting back into the hobby of his youth, and being utterly amazed by the quality of work being produced by everyone in his 30+ year absence! The choice of tools, paints, even models is way beyond how it was back then.

I am back to my original interests, aircraft with the odd nod to AFVs - mainly WW1, WW2 and just beyond. Whereas back in the day it was all 1:72, nowadays my 50-something eyes do tend to struggle with models that small. Thankfully there seems to be a great choice in the larger scales.

I had (well still have) a large scale railway in the garden, from which grew an interest in making my own figures, so from time to time I return to that.

I have found in myself a liking for unusual subjects or unusual variants on popular themes, so anyone doing anything out of the ordinary will more than likely grab my attention :)

I am very keen to learn new techniques for things like weathering etc, so hopefully I will learn a lot from all you experts!

Cheers,

Clive

Hi Lee, thanks for the welcome. To confuse things somewhat I am from Bristol originally, but I have lived down here for nearly 30 years so I am more or less classed as a local :)

Thanks for the welcome. I am wondering if I should dip a toe in the water by starting a thread to show my progress on an old Airfix Skyraider kit.
