Hello all on the forum! Along with some of the good people on the Military Modelers Graveyard Facebook page we are starting this group build. This is a non ISM sponsored build but if we have enough ISM interest we will put a thread up on the forum as well as the already posted Facebook page. The build runs from Saturday 9/17/16 through 01/07/17, January 7th, 2017. Anyone wishing to join please post below and if you have any questions please contact me or one of the admins on the Facebook page. Hope to see you all there!

This is a group page dedicated to our online, Multi-Engine Bomber Group Build. Your Admins are: Chris Reagan - (Me), Bret Marquardt, Mark Escalera and Marty Phipps.

Below are the rules regarding this event:

Start Date - 9/17/2016
End Date - 1/7/2017

Entry Requirements:
Must be a multi engine bomber. Any scale and any era works, as long as the aircraft kit you enter is a multi-engine aircraft primarily designed as a Bomber, (short range, medium range or long range).

Multirole / strike aircraft do not meet these requirements. We know there are numerous aircraft that can drop bombs. But.. Just because an aircraft can drop bombs, doesn't mean it was primarily designed as a bomber. Basically, any aircraft that has more than one purpose, or can drop bombs and then go air to air with other aircraft do not count and will not be allowed entry into this build. Bombers only.

Unbuilt and unstarted kits as of 9/17/16 which is the start day. Photos of the unbuilt kit will be required to be posted on the page prior to starting the build.

Updated photos of the build can be added to your starting photos as often as you like but the thread of your build should be complete and concise.

Any aftermarket or scratch building is allowed. Builds will be judged on originality and quality and the time invested in the build thread. PE and resin are a great way to add to your kit, but not everyone is interested in that part of modeling or can afford the extras. So investing in every piece of aftermarket won't guarantee you a better finish, it is also about the story your build tells.

This is meant to be fun and to get everyone to take out some larger kits and join. Always wanted to build your Vulcan or B-58 or B-24 or Canberra, or Bear or Badger, B-52 or IL-28? nows your chance.

The admins will decide which aircraft to allow in, but as stated above it must have been deigned to be a bomber. To save time here are some not allowed:

C-130; The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft.(direct from the Lockheed page). Yes it has many roles but bomber wasn't one of them.

ME-262; just because the Fuhrer wanted it to be a bomber we all know thats not what it was designed for.

A-10/SU-25; yes they can drop bombs but so can a Cessna.
Helicopters; really do we need to talk about this?

Bombers Only.. No Strike Fighters, Multi Role Fighter / Attack Aircraft, Close Air Support Aircraft, etc. Multi Engine Bombers only.. Aircraft designed as bombers

So there are many aircraft that can drop bombs that doesn't mean they were primarily designed as bombers. These would be multirole / strike aircraft, etc. Use your research and intelligence when choosing a build. Admins are here to assist you in choosing an aircraft that might fall into this gray area.
We reserve the right to update these rules whenever someone provokes us into changing them, or something needs clarified.
If there are any questions about an entry, please contact a Site Admin and we will assist you with a finally ruling in regard to the aircraft in question =)

(On a serious note, any person causing problems, drama or taking away from the overall fun of this group will be booted and banned.. Absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE with this rule.... Disrespect of Admins and members will not be tolerated. We are all adults here, so lets have some fun and build some models.. This is a hobby, so lets enjoy it together).

Found a dornier in the stash, 2 enignes and the box art shows an open bomb bay with bombs falling out of it, should fit the bill!

Just need to find the right bird. Almost walked home with the old 1/48 Revellogram B-17...pretty sure it hasn't changed since I first tried building it in 19 [redacted] but then I realized I've not got a spray booth large enough fpr it.

Still might do it. It's crazy that the old kit is still being made...and it's not expensive.

Found the one I want but I have to wait for the ole' eBay counter to wind down to find out if I get it

If not I have a back up in mind. Either way I won't be able to start until after turkey day. Which is fine, I have two GBs in progress anyway.

Alright, kit in hand and maybe some time this afternoon to do something--if not then as soon as I hit break in a couple weeks. I couldn't grab the kit I wanted to do at 1/72 so I thought I'd squeeze in something bite-sized.



I'm thinking I'll try and make it an ornament. Warnament? Hopefully it isn't a dog, should be fun either way. WIP to come...
