Hey guys..

On a real aircraft is there usually a visable seam line where the wing meets the fuselage?

Most of my builds are WW2 aircraft so that is what im primarily concerned with...

Yes there is. The problem can be when the kit join is not the same as the join on the real thing. Where the join matches that on a real aircraft, the seam should be visible but level. Ideally it should look like any other panel line.

On many aircraft there is a fairing that fits over the join to create better aerodynamics. The Spitfire is a perfect example - the beautiful curved skin sections where the wing skins meet the vertical fuselage sides. The fairing actually sits on top of the wing and fuselage skins where it meets them but given the resulting difference in levels is only the width of the skin itself, any difference would be virtually invisible on a model unless you're working on the very biggest scale kits. You would just have the panel line and that's it.
