Car Body Shells

OK I've done several car models in the past but I've never done one were the instructions have told me what to do with the inside of the body shell.

So what do you do with it? Do you paint it black? Paint it the same colour as the outside? What!

If you do paint it a different colour to the outside what is the best way to mask it. Do you paint the inside or the outside first?

I look forward to some answers as I'm sure everybody will have some good ideas and tales of how they do theirs!

If it's for a R/c car the inside of the body is painted , so that the paint job doesn't get spoilt when you ding & crash the car, hope this helps

Whoops, no sorry I should have said. It was for static scale models I was wanting advice!

I would say the inside of the passenger area should be the same colour as the interior and any opning bonnets or boots should be body colour. I would paint the inside first and just run some tape around the openings before painting the exterior.

No, I don't usually paint the entire internals of an auto body, maybe the window surrounds.
Usually the interior tub covers all of the actual body internals. The wheel wheels are usually painted as part of that tub and then the frame and floor assemble covers everything from the underside.
On an acutual full size auto, it would be body colour

I ask as I have an Airfix VW Beetle and it seems to have no inner tub for the passenger/driver compartment. The plastic is grey and the body colour is blue. So I'll have to do something with the inside.
