Guy's Eduard 1/48th Bf109E-3

Post by GuyMac »

A bit late to jump in but for now, as part 1 has already aired. The cockpit has been glued and can't wait to continue along with the upcoming episodes.
Photo's will follow soon.
This is also the first SIG ever I joined and this is ( of course ) one that will go on for a while. I don't intend to speed it up as I want specifically to build along with Paul's tutorial as they appear on ISM's Youtube channel. :thumb1:

On general request (from one certain lad) :cheers2:

This is my build so far. As I've said before, I will follow the build as Paul releases his tutorial video's. So far the cockpit has been assembled.

The kit I have chosen to build:

As soon as new video's are up... i'll watch them and continue my build.

Catching up with Paul's build... :D

Cockpit painted and weathered.Just not used to PE. This is the first time ever and my eyesight isn't 100% unfortunately
The seat needs some wash. I've just glued the PE on the seat.

Some dry fiting just to see the detail. Looks OK to me. (Not as OK as Paul's work). But I'm happy with it.

As said before I've never used PE before. But it is really a plus for a build. I will use it more and more. I'll certainly look for some AM from now on.
Just need to get more used to washes. This time I've tried some oils and Ultimate light dirt.
Tried the fading effect on the paint but I guess I just didn't use enough white.

For a first attempt at using Photo-Etch it wouldn't be complaining. It looks fine in the photo's and it sure looks better than my first attempt at using the stuff. I was just over 15 and my skills and patience levels where lets say a lot to be desired ;)

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Looking good. The cockpit floor looks especially nice
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.
