How do everyone.
(Looking nervously round the room and shuffling feet back and forth)
My names John and I'm into plastic.
(There I've said it, it's out, everyone knows, I can begin to relax now)
It all started when I was about 8ish. Airfix, revell, tubes of glue, little tins of humbrol enamel, paintbrushes etc. The whiff of glue on a Saturday morning before dashing out to catch up with mates. No internet, no forums, just books, magazines, mates and imagination. Planes, boats, tanks, spaceships even hovercraft were all made and loved.
Then came girls, motorbikes, jobs etc and other 'important' stuff. My childhood hobbies drifted like dust into my parents attic.
Later on in life a rediscovery of those forgotten dreams and a brief flirt with the associated joys before they were tucked away again, now under my bed.
Then a number of years back a full on relationship developed again with this most absorbing of hobbies. Aided by 'modern' means, books, magazines, mates and imagination (oh and the Internet now) my passion for the hobby has grown and grown. I try to build mostly 'out of the box' but seatbelts on aircraft seem to have crept in lol. Whatever next.
I hope to have fun in here and look forward to making new friendships based upon this great hobby 'just like when I was a kid'.
