Hasegawa 1/72 Mitchell B25-J

This is the first Hasegawa aircraft kit I have had a go at, and so far very impressed,very fine moulding with great detail. I got this kit off a very good mate of mine about 2 years ago, I swapped a bike kit he wanted.
Will attempt to do a wip that has something of interest to read,as well as look at.
So far I have cleaned up various cockpit and bomb bay parts, and the fuselage halves, and added some scratch details to the cockpit side walls as they were void of details, used some plastic strip, and then some lead and copper wire to add a bit of detail.
Have primed with Alclad Black primer, before spraying the interior with Chromate Green, which I need to look up to see how close it is to Mr Hobby's interior Green, the Black base will hopefully add some depth and shadow to the interior.

Update. Have started on the painting ,just the interior and some of the smaller detail bits that are required before the two halves of the fuselage can be closed up.
The paint call out for the interior is for Chromate Green, which I don't have, so I used Mr Hobby U.S. interior green with a little added yellow which I think came out fairly close to the images I saw for Chromate Green on a Google search, with this mix I airbrushed the fuselage halves, and all the other parts called out in the same colour, to add some definition I then airbrushed a weak dusting of Tamiya Yellow Green, which is supposed to replicate Zinc Chromate Yellow primer, then smaller details painted as required by brush such as the X18 Semi Gloss Black on the instrument panel, and some of the auxiliary tanks, Olive Green on the ammo boxes, Red Brown on the seat cushions and buff for the harness's, then given a light dry brushing of aluminium to create some wear and tear, then a light was of Flory washes Dark Grime. The 50 Cal. guns have been done with Mr Hobby number 28 Black Steel. I can now get the decals on the interior before closing up the two halves, and progressing on with the assembly. Here is where its at for now will update as it happens, any comments or criticisms welcome.

Update
Tonight has been just a few hours, got the interior decals on, the instrument panel, and a couple of placards, with this done I have now closed up the fuselage halves, they joined without issue, and only needed a smear of Valejo plastic filler just in front of the cockpit, reinstated a couple of the panel lines, and completed a few where they did not quiet meet up at the centre joint. Next job were the wings and the engine nacelles, and again all went together with no fuss at all, just a quick swipe wipe a sanding sponge along the leading edges and the nacelle joints, then a a couple of minutes spent with a polishing pad to restore a smooth surface.
Tomorrow should hopefully be getting into primer ready for the gloss black base for the natural metal finish.
Hope this is proving to be a bit more interesting than my usual efforts, but any criticisms are welcome

Progress today has been all about the painting, for ease I have not yet fixed the wings, spent ages with the Eduard canopy masks, then airbrushed all the glazing with the interior green, left for an hour, then airbrushed Alclad gloss black base, in readiness for the aluminium. While waiting for the glazing to dry I started on the fuselage and wings, given 3 light coats of the black base, then on with two light coats of Alclad airframe aluminium, followed by some random panels airbrushed with white aluminium and dark aluminium. Left this while I completed the glazing, then airbrushed Alclad Aqua Gloss over everything, will leave this now for 24 hours to settle. Next will be to shade some of the panels wil do this with oils and inks, before I give it a grey panel wash.

Have been going through your Mosquito thread and it looks awesome, I have this one in my stash to do, I had it off a mate who had started it and lost interest, your build has given me the motivation to have a look at building it pretty soon.

Big update sorry in advance for all the photos got snap happy with the camera, have finished the metal finish and have assembled the undercarriage and a few more bits, have post shaded with Tamiya X19 Smoke very heavily diluted, and used some pastels to add some weathering around the exhausts and cowlings, have also got the decals on which were a bit of a struggle they were very brittle due to the age of the kit I suppose, had to touch them in, in a few places especially the Star and bar on the port side, used lots of Set and Sol to get it to go around the two bumps on the fuselage. have shown it next to the Airfix P51 with Barracuda decals for "Double Trouble Two " I am also building along side this one.
Should be all done in the next few days.
