Managed to get on using another computer that I'd not signed out of, can't now save changes to pictures cropping etc, just keep getting a message across the top of the page say "hmm something gone wrong your changes haven't been saved try again now" or words to that effect :wall: :wall: :wall:

Still not got a reset email either it's hopeless :x :x :x

Yes, Flickr does the same job! You can see that Skypainter used it on his Monogram Phantom thread.

There has been a relatively new update to photobucket and i think it introduced more bugs and issues than it fixed.

I had a problem signing in to Photobucket. I hadn't used it in a while and I thought I might have changed the password and forgotten it. I tried the reset password, but it still didn't work. I had to contact support to get them to sort it out. As I try it now the site can't be reached! Oh well...

Just testing Photobucket on my phone. I'm a VERY late adopter of mobile phones. In fact I've only had one since June. So if I post a picture of the family pet by mistake I apologise.

Edited as I deleted the other picture.

So it looks like I'll be using Photobucket after all.

It's not bad as far as it goes, they do perform regular maintenance but it rarely results in a total take down, just makes it slow for a while.

I saw a message on there earlier today saying they were dealing with a DDOS attack so them being down right now might have something to do with that?

I haven't been able to log onto Photobucket since yesterday morning. One of the problems I've had in the past was it loading popups (slowly!) behind my main screen so I can't see them right away. That slowed it down a lot. Now, nothing.

If you use Chrome or Firefox you should try uBlock Origin, it kills ads and pop-ups. (Embedded ads like those on ISM here are safe, but they aren't the kind that kill your browser speed anyway).

For Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... iagm?hl=en

For Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefo ... ck-origin/

For Opera: https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/ublock/

If you're an IE user (or is it Edge now?) you should consider trying either browser out--I prefer Chrome myself. It's a bit of an adjustment, but IE has slowly copied those two a lot over the last decade so it won't be that drastic a difference to you. I think others have ported it for IE/Edge and Safari, but not the uBlock people themselves so I'll let you look up the extensions yourself.

You can also "whitelist" sites that you don't mind letting ads show through, and with two clicks you can disable it. For YouTube users who depend upon ad revenue and don't have a Patreon, I sometimes do this so I don't deprive them of income.

Photobucket theft.

On Oct 30 photobucket automatically withdrew money from my paypal account for a years subscription renewal.

On Nove 2 photobucket sent me an email:
We've experienced a problem when trying to automatically renew your Plus subscription. The Plus subscription payment did not process, most likely due to expired payment information.
here.
Click "Stop my recurring payments" located just below your account expiration date.
Now click "Restart my recurring payments," located in the same spot.
Photobucket Support Team.

Since they had withdrawn the money 3 days earlier, I ignored this.

Nov 8 photobucket reverted my account to the limited free version and also blocked access to the limited version for 24 hours.

Nov 8 I sent them a "service request through their system (good luck trying to find an email or phone number for these thieves), with the paypal transaction number and a screen clip of the transaction record from my paypal account that says clearly that the money was for photobucket.

So far I've heard nothing. The account has not been restored nor the money refunded, at this point photobucket has, by the Canadian criminal standards, committed fraud. If I don't hear anything within the next 24 hours, I'm going to open a dispute with paypal and file a report with the RCMP.

could it be the result of them being hacked and the thieves now have your money. All they would have had to do was change the account details and your money and others would flow to their accounts.

There's nothing on the internet about pb being hacked, and if they were they'd have responded by now. If they were hacked, the cost of my subscription (which I'll get back from paypal anyway) is nothing compared the the settlement of the failure to secure my data.

Gotta love the internet.

Great quote from The West Wing when Leo laments the demise of NASA after the moon landings.

Leo - My generation never got the future it was promised. Thirty-five years later, cars, air travel is exactly the same. We don't even have the Concorde anymore. Technology stopped.

Josh - The personal computer.

Leo - A more efficient delivery system for gossip and pornography? Where's my jet pack? My colonies on the Moon?

Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

Well it took them a week to respond. They restored the full account. I'm sure the PayPal dispute I opened on Friday lit a fire under them.
So if you do have a problem with photobucket be aware that the customer support is basically non-existent, a week to respond and there is no phone number I can find anywhere on the internet that will be answered (the one they provide to paypal goes to a recording telling to to send an email to service@photobucket).

Yes so many want your money and little else, last thing they want to do is be engaged with customers.
