Would that be the original 1974 gone in 60 seconds or the remake or both, both could bump the list up to around 100 cars to choose from :)

btw the original is a great film.

How about the wannabe's, the paper panzers or other prototypes that never made it to full production.

Hi All,

I'm relatively new here and since I don't have tons of time to dedicate to this hobby, I'll be using GBs and SIGs as a source of inspiration. I've already seen lots of great ideas that will get me going. Especially, "Thunder and Lightning" and a "weather" related build (these will get me to do some subjects I'm already interested in). A racing theme would be good too, get me to build a car or bike. I'll also throw in a couple of my ideas, these may have been done before so...

A "Motherland/Homeland" build; a subject from an ancestor's birth country, for me Germany or Norway.

A "Heritage" build; a subject tied to a relative, maybe you have an uncle that was a pilot or your dad had a really cool car. Might get some people to do some family research.

How about "If I could...", oh wait, isn't that what we do most of the time?

Just my $0.02...
- Bob M.

So far some of my favorite sigs/bg idea's that people have posted are. Some name sugestions for added fun included :)

In no real order

The checkered flag - Racing gb or sig ( i think this should include land sea and air )
Post Apocalypse ( can include zombies )
Gone in 60 Seconds - any car from the Original or remake of the films ( 100 cars in total )
Mig Build ( any aircraft as long as its a mig ) Or this could be expanded in to "Battle of the M and M's" - McDonnell Douglas vs Mikoyan and Gurevich Design Bureau, any aircraft built by those two companys.
Its Flat at the Top - Any naval aircraft
Weather build - anything that gets its name from the weather
Best Bang for your Buck buck - Budget build - set a cap on the maximuim spend of a build, can include after market as long as it does not go over the amount set.
Into the Void - Space and Space Scifi It has to work in the great void of space.
Its A Dry Heat, Desert Warfare group build, any subject and time
Finders Keepers - Captured equipment, Can be anything as long as its captured by one side and used by them.

:)

Sounds good although one relies on the vagaries of memory. If I remember rightly my first kit purchase was a bulk lot of 8 kits...don't think I can do that many together.

How about an after market group build or sig - Must contain a minimum amount of after market, example if you was building a tank you could add a metal barrel, PE engine covers, and resin equipment.

good idea...lets stretch ourselves a little. Perhaps add it to one of the other idea's....pe or resin with say the oldest tooled kit in your stash. See what can be done to improve a old kit

VTOL - any vertical take off and landing craft
diorama only - no kit to be displayed, just the base?
kit bash - two or more kits used to make something “new”
Biplanes - any area, WWI to present day
dogfight doubles - opposing sides, could be aircraft, AFV ships and subs etc.
I heart Eduard - same as the I heart Tamiya but for Eduard
Trainers - aircraft used to teach pilots how to fly
"I'm tall for my height" - "it looks like it was painted by a blind chimpanzee"

I like the idea of a trainer/display team build. Lots of bright colours and clean builds! Also a 'navy build' anything used by the navy, so could be ships, subs, carrier aircraft. Would also include marines, so there'd even be armour in there, something for everyone!
I could do with another shelf of doom build too, get those unfinished kits back in action.
F-18 sig, beautiful aircraft, nuff said!
Friggin in the riggin- anything with some rigging, ships, biplanes
I'll second the Tv, movie, video game idea too. Endless scope with that one.

Ooh another idea. Call it "Out of Africa" or something, basically anything used in Africa/by an African nation. Be it Desert Rats or Afrika Korps to a Ugandan Hind or ship deployed off Somalia. There's a large range of subjects, settings, origins and time periods (literally right back to the dawn of man), just a thought. Plus it'd give me an excuse to buy that Takom T-55 ;)
