Reichbahn's Panzerdraisine

Post by zb00p »

Steyr built these armoured railed cars for the Reichbahn and the initial plan was to use them in trains of 20 cars, but fuel shortages led to this running independently or in small groups. The Panzerdraisines were self-propelled, but their 76hp engine was not powerful enough, which meant these cars had a poor gas mileage. They were fitted with a Pz III Ausf N. turret with a 7.5 cm KwK L/24.

When I bought this, I was a bit sceptical and started it as a side project. In the end, it turned out a lot better than my main project!
