Anothe 'pile' of parts cut off, cleaned up and primed ready for the detail painting. A good chunk of them are semi gloss black which moves it along quite quickly.

I have carbon decal stencils for other kits but there seems to be quite a bit of waste after they're cut out so i was thinking i could use it for parts of this build, we'll see !

Thats pretty much the detail painting done, just the fairings to go but i think i'll need to wait till next weekend fos some daylight modeling time.

I'm not entirely sure who said this but it's probably the single best piece of advice you could give and it was - treat every piece like it's the whole kit. Scott maybe ?

This is what we were talking about the other week from my profile interests ? I think these two are three years old now and most probably out of date ! I do still enjoy the micro stuff though

What is under the full fuselage on the helicopter is it a Trex and is it belt or torque tube and they certainly look better than my Blade 200 SRX.

you've probably noticed i've missed out the exhausts so far. The last bike i did i used one of the tamiya weathering sets and they came out really good but with this H2R the exhausts are a very prominent part of the bike and i'm not sure the weathering set would cut it this time, i was thinking alclads ?

Hi dave, yeah, it's align mechanic's with a carbon tube drive. It's a slightly different motor and gear ratio to the 3D stuff as well. It's 12cell 5000mah giving around 7-8 min of mixed hovering and aero's.

Hi John, Alclad is the way I would go with the exhausts, starting with polished aluminium or chrome followed by a dusting around the down pipes of pale burnt metal, hot sepia, then I mix Tamiya clear blue and red to make a purple ish blue heavily thinned down about 70% thinner to paint, and again just dusted on the down pipes from the manifolds.

Parts D37 and 38 are to be painted gun metal where the handle bars attach to. The fit was so tight i had to take the paint and primer back off but after that they slipped on

I wouldnt have thought so dave, you wouldnt get the soft edge. What i'll do is use the weathering set on the chromed kit parts to see what that would look like before i strip off that chrome plating for the alclads.

i've just had a bit of an accident, the bike has just fell over and broke off the right hand handlebar ! Not the end of the world but definately a pain. I might even post the fix if it might help someone else.

Cheers Ivan. The only downside is a the usuall tricks dont seem to work if you 'loose' the end. I struggle even with good light a magnifier and a new blade. The 'step' is so small.

Of coarse there is every chance it's just me lol

Hi Gary, yeah, i have a few of those mixed paints that i've made up over the year's for the exhausts. Another one that looks good is clear yellow mixed with smoke.
I put in an order to emodels last night for some alclads to try

OUCH I did that years ago with my NSR 500, I'd JUST finished it "on the kitchen table back in those days" got up to hand it to my nephew who was visiting to have a look and it just jumped out of my hands from about elbow height! And miracle of miracles only a foot rest and a bit of exhaust came off and were very quick repairs!
