Let's do a Gundam/Robot Group Build!

Here we go (I hope!):

- Main Body Purple: Purple (50%) + Cobalt Blue (20%) + White (25%) + Fluorescent Pink (5%)
- Body Blue: Neutral Gray (70%) + Cobalt Blue (20%) –chest and back- + White (10%)
- Body Green: Yellow Green (60%) + Fluorescent Green (40%)
- Orange Yellow: Orange Yellow (80%) + Orange (20%)
- Red: Red (90%) + Yellow (5%) + White (5%)
- Plug: White (90%) + Cobalt Blue (10%)
- Gun body: Olive Drab
- Gun upper part: Warship Color*
- Knife Blade: Silver
- Sword blade: Black Iron color
- Primary Head Dark Brown:
- 2nd Row Mahogany (80%) + Sandy Brown (20%)
- 3rd Row Mahogany (50%) + Sandy Brown (50%)
- Forehead Brown: Sandy Brown (70%) + White (20%) + Mahogany (10%)
- Conical Part: Mahogany (80%) + Black (20%)
- Blacks: Black
- Eye White: White and small amount of Yellow

I can't be positive for Evangelion, but for all the Gundam kits the color call outs reference Mr Color paints, so if those aren't available for you (Mr Hobby lacquers in the dark blue labels--the light blues are the aqueous line and differ a bit but should be comparable, red is red) there's nothing crazy there that can't be matched from another line except maybe the pinks and greens.

* Not sure which gray they're referring to for "Warship Color" -- I might do some snooping around to figure that out for you, but I imagine any IJN warship gray is probably fine.

Question: I have a lot of Gundam kits already assembled with the intent to paint them later. Would they qualify as an entry or does it have to be a completely unstarted kit? I don't mind either of the two but the first option gives me more...errr...options. :p

I'd say we're in really good shape so far. 34 is pretty big (Summer Sci-Fi was 40 and that is a much more broad topic) and there's still one more day to go before the poll closes. I'll make my official request tomorrow afternoon but I'm pretty confidant our place is secure with a sub-forum of our own.

Good show! just recovered from a particularly nasty stomach bug. floored me over the weekend only just starting to feel normal(insert usual disclaimer here) a screaming case of the Brad Pitts!! and the Exorcist vomitting.

anyhooo..on with the show. the Sig is looking in good shape and i think im going to edge towards the Seed gundam end of the spectrum.

I have this one and can't wait to do it. It's a sweet design with some cool gimmicks, but best of all it was released last June so it's a completely new tooling with all the technical bells and whistles but doesn't look overly complex (from my limited reading of the manual). Some great detailing and posing possibilities, too. Best of all it's not too expensive and widely available! I say go for it, it's an awesome MG.

ETA: I noticed it says out of stock on Japan-Cool But it should be around on Amazon and whatnot as well. Just make sure the one you grab says Version 2.0 (the original is a little long in the tooth nowadays).

Yeah, I'm lucky that my LHS happens to stock them. If you have trouble finding them let me know and we'll find the comparable paints
