P-47 D "Razorback" - Matchbox 1/72

I build this model some time ago... but I had so much fun building it that I have to share it with you !!!

For those young modellers in this forum I have to tell you that Matchbox is a very old... classic brand ... that no longer is with us!!
It was acquired by revell. The thing about matchbox (at least for me) was the fitting.... they fitted very well for the time they where made!!
One of the most interesting things of matchbox models was the colored sprues... i still feel nostalgia every time I buy one !!!
The multicolored sprues where made this way because in that time most modellers didn't had paints... so when you finished a model it would look much better then other brands where that light grey becomes the most dull color in the world!!!

So I thought "Why not take a classic model and apply recent techniques to it???" , things like priming, preshading , scratch building or painting D-Day stripes (not using decals) !!!!

I know that the end result is not anything great ... but i can asure you all that I had an AWESOME time building it!!!

That is an awesome built of an obviously old model. What a shame it isn't recessed all over, I notice the wings have recessed panel lines, but the fuselage has raised, personal taste would rather it was either or all over, but still. The paintwork is fantastic Pedro, really really nice job!
