Christmas Modelling loot

Post by Twokidsnosleep »

Thought it might be interesting to see what fellow modellers receive from Santa and loved ones (as opposed to what we buy ourselves)
Interested to see the good bad and ugly of gifts people give you when they know you model
I expect a pretty small haul this year SO fire up some photos of your Christmas surprises
:cheers2: all and Merry Christmas

My wife "gave me" Asuka's 1/35 'Luchs'', but I actually choose it beforehand, so I guess it doesn't count :P

Was a very Merry Christmas here in Texas! Life long dream came true and got top graduate to boot! Met my girlfriends family (and they like me!) My dad asked what to get me for Christmas and I just told him models and made a list of the stuff I already had (to avoid doubling up.) Ended up with this haul. I'm supremely excited!

Wow - some great hauls here already!

Looks like I managed to wangle my way onto the "Good" list this year too...

Reinforcements for the ground forces:

Not forgetting the air force:

And these seemed popular this year :) Thanks Mrs Tomcat!
Image

I think this counts... definitely something a bit different...
Image

And finally for all those little accidents at the bench...

All the best for 2017 to everyone!

Well pleased with goodies for Xmas, Meng ZSU 23\4 Shilka, Trumpy MIG 27 D , AFV Wiesel and some pots of paints .... The meng box is stuffed with plastic.....!looking forward to building it when I get the chance ,can't get any bench time for a while ....came of my motorbike Wednesday before Xmas and tore some ligaments in my knee got a support brace on can't bend my leg to get it under the bench :eeek:
Not the best , but I'm learning something new everyday, I'm a sucker for detail may take me longer to do something but it will be done to high level of detail to my abilities :cheers2:

I guess I behaved, I got some nice stuff!!!

The Airfix 1:32 Ford Fiesta RS WRC. I have done this one already when I started the hobby 2 years ago, but know I'll give it another go, airbrushing it instead of paintbrushed and with more patience for the decals!!!
Image

Italeri 1:72 Tornado IDS/ECR. Probably will build it with the Italian Air Force markings and offer it to my italian housemate. Or maybe join the Warring Weather GB. Or maybe both!!!
Image

Airfix 1:72 Battle of Britain 75º Anniversary Set, that includes a Spitfire MkIa, a Hurricane MkI, a Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 and an awsome Heinkel He111 P-2. Just checked, all recent toolings from Airfix, so good quality kits.
Image

Finally, a present from myself to my eyes!!! A LED illuminated magnifier!!! The LED lights are strong enough to replace my old desk lamp and the magnifier will help me with those tiny parts!!!

I think that'd convince anyone that you didn't buy it for yourself.

I think it would for sure
The inside cabinet measurements of shelves are 36cm wide x 30 cm deep and then the diagonal corner to corner is 46cm
That is a 1/24 F1 car on the second shelf and lots of room left
