Trumperter 1/48 DKM U-Boat Type VIIC U-552 w/ Full Interior Anyone build this yet?

So this beast has been showing up in the local hobby stores lately. It's about a meter/yard long and I keep looking at it - but wondering if anyone has taken the plunge yet?

I did see it at my lhs as well. Looks quite interesting, but I think at this point in time it is a little beyond my skill level, but definitely something I would like to try in the near future

I would love to get my hands on one! $600 for one over here in oz though, its a bit out of my price(and talent)range for the moment. But a man can dream.

I'd like to have a go at that one day. Hell of a kit. Wouldn't actually take up that much room as it's long and thin.

If I had room to build it I would start saving now, but, maybe if I tear down my small model railroad layout I could free up some space...
