'Lost in France' Diorama

Post by chalkyw »

Finally I've finished this diorama which has been lying around for a while waiting for inspiration, I've had a small build thread going (http://www.intscalemodeller.com/viewtop ... 29&t=18794) which if you've been kind enough to have followed then thanks very much and I hope you enjoyed it.

Anyway here we go.....I've called this 'Lost in France' as the Carriers have stopped to discuss directions with the Paras and I guess the timeline is a few days after D-Day somehwere in Normandy following the breakout from the beaches.

It would be great to hear what you think and I hope you enjoy looking.....till next time :th:
Cheers :cheers2:

Great representation of the bocage landscape in normandy! i love it :) great job on the figures too. i can imagine that painting on these camo patterns on the uniform is not easy.

superb job mate - one really gets the depth and enormity of the bocage.you can just imagine a group of Germans with panzerfausts waiting round the corner in the undergrowth to ambush this troop.its not often you get a diorama with such an intensity and feel to it.once again great work and great skill levels. :th: :th: :th: :th: :jd:

Amazing build Chalky. You really captured those insane hedgerows. Building this you must of caught yourself talking to yourself. Hahaha. Again great build.

Thanks Dave :th: :th: ......yep, I've found myself looking at it and noticing things I don't even remember doing, like the poppy flower I made as a 'lest we forget' gesture, you can just see it in a couple of the pics.......pretty chuffed with how this one turned out

Brilliant work. Particularly like the guy sitting on the gate, nice touch. The foliage and grasses are first class. Well done, sir!
