Good spitfire kit

I m about to finish an old academy spitfire kit i had. I didn't have much interest in this plane and used the kit mostly for practice since i'm pretty new to airplane modeling. But building it develop an interest and love for it. So i'de like to know if anyone as a suggestion for a recent good kit for it. Don t know much about all the mk difference. Thanks in advance

The new tool airfix spitfires are good, both 1/72 and 1/48. For a more involved build I'd go with one of the eduard spits.

Options worth considering are:-

Tamiya mk I and mk V.

Build up very well, decent detail. Tamiya decals can be a bit thick.

Airfix mk I and V.

Cheap. Fit is a little more interesting. Some say that panel lines are a little overdone.

Eduard mks VIII, IX, XVI.

Superb detail, great marking options and excellent decals. Engine cover comes in two halves and is the only problem with the kits.

If you like your Griffon engine birds, Airfix also do some very nice late mark Spits

A Mk XII with clipped wings and a PR Mk XIX

And A Griffon Seafire XVII.

All new tools, all very nice.

Not forgetting Airfix's 1:48 Mk.22/24 Spitfire or the Seafire FR46/FR47 kits which to my mind are equally as good as the newer toolings.
