RSO with 105mm Gun Final Reveals

Post by hansolo »

Hi guys,

Here are the final reveal pics.
After the initial painting and chipping I did the following steps:
Did almost everything with OPR. The dirt and rust effects and extra highlight on the winter camo.
The metal grind and sheen was done with earth pigment dissolved in water and when dry, brushed of.
Extra metal sheen with metal color pigment applied dry and graphite.
The rust on the exhaust is done with rust colored pigments applied wet first and than dry on top of that.
Same technique for the mud on the tracks and wheels.
But most of the effects are done with OPR. OPR rocks!
It gives you an enormous amount of freedom and possibility for accuracy. You can apply where and
how much you choose. It's perfect for detailed weathering and with slow drying, gives you time to
manipulate the effect and intensity till you're satisfied with the result. :thumb1:

No, it's not a what if. Prototypes were made (hence the photo's) but they didn't make it to production. :th:

Interesting Self Propelled gun variant. Fantastic weathering...love the bare metal effect on the 105mm gun.
