Diorama rubble / debris suppliers

Post by Stokesy44 »

Hi All

Does anyone know a supplier for 1/35 rubble and debris? I'm looking for bricks and masonry, wood and general debris if possible.

As always, muchos gracias in advance :cheers2:

Diorama Debris make some excellent stuff. I have several of their moulds and it's easy to make batches of bricks, roof tiles etc in any colour you need.

Edit: This ISM Thread I started shows you stuff I bought from Diorama Debris and the results I got.

I have found that Field of Glory models do a good range of this sort of stuff.

website - http://www.fieldsofglorymodels.co.uk/fo ... s-17-c.asp

Debris - http://www.fieldsofglorymodels.co.uk/13 ... 9259-p.asp
and - http://www.fieldsofglorymodels.co.uk/13 ... 1121-p.asp
The best one is probably this - http://www.fieldsofglorymodels.co.uk/13 ... 1191-p.asp

Hope this helps :)

That reminds me. I wanted to ask something along these lines, so if I may!

Does anybody know a place that I can get some VERY small stones. Like smaller than 0.5mm in size. Small amounts of course sand and things like that, what can I use.

Can't you use some insect screen as a sieve and source your own locally. Fast flowing streams can provide what you need or course stony beaches....plenty of them over there I suspect.

One of the guys in here used coarse salt chunks and painted them grey.....I thought that was brilliant.
I have used saw dust/ wood shavings for ground cover painted of course and dried in the microwave :shhh: don't tell the wife that one
Moss and twigs and stuff that I found as well on walks with the dog

For general rubble I picked up a couple of packs of DioDump DD040 from DioDepot - they're based in the NL but have an e-bay store and will ship to the UK. Really happy with the general mix of bricks, rubble, wood and metal (shipping can be a bit pricey depending on the weight though).

For small stuff either the crushed kittylitter or some Woodland Scenics railway ballast, for bigger stuff I've got a bag of aquarium gravel that'll last a lifetime unless I decide to do a quarry diorama.

Cool info. Thanks Guys

Just found a pet store less than 2 miles away. Called them and they confirmed they sell a good variety of small bags of aquarium gravel.

Got the aquarium gravel this morning. Fantastic stuff, 2kg for £3.50. Varying sizes, dark brown in colour. Perfect for the basis of a rubble pile plus a few added bricks and balsa wood timber.

Well chuffed.

This guy lives around the corner from me. Met him at Telford and he was really helpful and the products look good.
