Chally 1 Operation Granby

Hey guys,

Here is my second completed build - a British Challenger 1 from the First Gulf War. Challengers are credited with destroying 300+ Iraqi tanks. Very lethal and very cool looking beasts. Hope you like it. I used a bunch of AK Interactive weathering enamels/pigments and 502 Abteilung oil paints and shamelessly stole techniques from Mig Jimenez and Adam Wilder. I really like the fuel and oil/grease enamels - they create very cool looking effects.

It's 99% completed - just a few bits and pieces here and there need completed (shovel, water cans, etc.). I might also get some stowage/ration boxes/make some wrapped up tarps.

My build was based on pics of Challengers from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.

wow that is fantastic. I really like the Challengers both 1 & 2. I have a Tamiya Challenger 2 Desertised that I hope to build in the not to distant future I hope I can pull of something as good as yours. What paint did you use for the overall scheme and do you know if its the same as used on the Chally 2 in Iraq.

Guys - thank you all for the unbelievably kind words and words of encouragement!

My older sister gave birth to beautiful twins on Sunday, so life has been pretty hectic. I have been trying to help her out as much as I can so I have had very little free time to be on the forum between helping her and the rest of the craziness of life lol
