About time I suppose I say hi

Post by Jontlw »

Name is Jon.
RCMP officer in Saskatchewan. Hitting my mid thirties this year. I took up models a few years ago as I had more free time at this post. Time which disappeared last spring when baby arrived, but still trying.
Mostly into planes, I also like guns but that's less of an indoor sport and no fun in winter.

I'll go back to lurking.

Well, you should have thought of that before joining the Queen's Cowboys.

No horses around here, but from time to time I'll act like a horse's ass.

WELCOME!

(and yes, in English Canada it's Royal Canadian Mounted Police, in the other part it's GRC, or Gendarmerie royale du Canada. AKA "Mounties", "Queen's Cowboy's" or "The Horsemen".)

Sort of. In quebec and parts of New Brunswick (on the east coast) they speak Quebecois (sadly, this is what's taught in schools in the rest of Canada). Saying Quebecois is French is the same as saying Glaswegian is English. Most of the words are kind of the same, but someone who only knows the parent language ends up:

My two kids are both in French immersion school since grade 1, now grades 8 and 10.
They are fully annoying when they start blabbering away en Francais.
I am more the Bugs Bunny school of french

Ah I didn't know they had to do it at school. We used to live in Wales and my son had to do one period a week on the Welsh language. Not that I've anything against keeping old languages alive, I'm all for it actually but I thought that the period could have been better spent doing a modern European language. However he could sing 'I Can Sing A Rainbow' in Welsh...
