Revell 1/48 F-4E Phantom

Post by HIghAltitudeScale »

For Guy's build I'm doing the old revell kit with loads of Eduard after market and 2 sets of aftermarket decals and a resin cockpit. I love a good challenge! :cheers2:

Bret, thanks for joining in on the fun of this SIG. I like the you have opted to go big on this on and also chose to do so with that base kit . I'll keep an eye on the build whilst working on my own.

Hi guys and thanks, I purposely chose an older Revell kit so i could show cleaning it up and that old kits can be made to look nice with a little work. Enjoy! :pop: :pistols:

Saweet, what an excellent approach to this build. Spreading the knowledge is what keeps the hobby alive :th:. Looks like you have got a complete scaled down version of all the aftermarket I got . The only thing that's a bit weird to me is the photo of 32nd scale decals for a 48th scale aircraft. Or are those a precautionary purchase just in case you need some extra filler??

The good ol' Monogram. Loved their F-4 kits. So sad they're eaten by Revell and hard to get over here in the EU.

Hope you get the AM in and a nice F-4 out

Are those recessed panel lines? ScaleMates shows the timeline of your kit going back to the original tool of my 1979 Monogram C/D, but my kit has raised panel lines.
