Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk1 vs BF109E-4

Post by ElCapitan »

Here is my finished display of the Airfix 1/72 "Dogfight Doubles" Supermarine Spitfire Mk1 and Messerschmitt BF109E-4.

The 109 was brush-painted, and my experience and skill level has come on leaps and bounds since I completed that one, so the two planes look like they were made by completely different modellers  I quite like that though, it shows me how I've improved.

The Spit is painted free-hand using an airbrush, with minimal weathering as I thought it would suit the display better.

Shame about the cheesy Airfix stand...

Pleased to have this one finished.

Lovely job, you can certainly see the difference between the builds.

Both very nice but you're right- you can see the progression.

Dog fight doubles. Brings back happy memories.

Lovely stuff.
