Custom Decals

Post by McLeod »

Has anyone ever used/bought any custom made decals, if so from where, what were they like, quality, service etc ?

I used decal paper for the printer.
There is white paper for printing decals with white in it (printer can't make white colour) and there is transparent decal paper.
You can make your own decals on the computer and print it. When it's printed, let it dry and give it 2 layers off decal film. I got that from microscale.
When that's dry, you can cut out the decals and apply it as normal decals. Must say, they are a bit rubber like, but it works great. The quality depends of the printer you use.

If you Google on decal paper, I'm sure you'll find it!
This is my experience with custom decals.

Hope it helps! :thumb1:

I was looking into the decal printer paper, can get it quite reasonably priced, only issue is my printer refuses to print black evenly. It's an Epson R300 and about 11 years old, think the heads just given up lol. Will be looking for new printer now, as getting this repaired is going to be comparable in cost to a newer one lol.

Paul, if it works out, could you do a quick how to for us? I've often thought of doing home brew decals but wouldn't know how to scale it down (ipad again!)

Cheers
